IBM Deep Blue defeated a chess master in the mid-1990s. Now you can download a chess game on any smartphone that's can be just as "smart".
IBM Watson defeated two Jeopardy champions. The natural language programming is now mainly used for customer service and tech support chatbots.
Alphabet's AlphaGo defeated the best Go players in the world. Haven't seen any other application since.
With all the hype on ChatGPT, I wonder if it will just end up being a commercial grammar corrector or an advanced code debugger.
How close are we really at getting an AI like HAL or Jarvis?
